Family Fun Weekend

Our Family Fun started Friday night, we headed up to mom and dads for the weekend. Saturday morning we woke up at 6:00 to the cannons going off for Founders Day. Instead of doing the breakfast at the park, we had breakfast at mom and dads house. We cooked a big breakfast and Jaime, Stran, Mom, Dad, Nana and the 3 of us had a yummy breakfast. We headed to the parade at 10:00. The kids got loaded up on candy and Stran hated it. The loud noises scared him. After the parade we went to North Ogden pool. Mark, Alex and Caden joined us and we had a lot of fun. Stran hated that too, he didn’t like the water on his toes. We caked the kids with sun screen but the adults thought we could be tuff. I was so happy just to be in the sun. Today however I can’t move my arms because I look like a lobster, (not complaining at all, I love sun). The girls had a great time, Madi went down the big slide for the first time and loved it and Kennedee did front flips off the high dive and couldn’t get enough. After the pool we all headed over to the Trout Farm because Stran loves fish. He didn’t like the fish we were trying to catch but he liked watching them in the other ponds. Madison was scared to death to get near the pond. I helped her hold her fishing rod and Mark threw a lot of food in the pond and we finally caught one. Kennedee tried catching them with her hands and spent most of the time hanging in the water.
We had family pictures that night and we all looked so lovely with our sun burns. The lady asked if we had all been boating, we laughed and said we were at the pool hanging out. After pictures Mark, Alex, Caden, Mom, Madi, Kennedee and me all went to Zeppes to get a cool refreshment. Later we all went back to Mom and Dads so exhausted. The kids sat on the lawn and watched the fireworks and the adults sat in the house just waiting to go to bed. We slept in on Sunday and slowly we headed home. It is hard leaving to come home after such a fun weekend. We are all exhausted and some of us are sun burnt but we had a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for joining Family Fun and letting us stay at your house. I can’t wait to see how our family pictures turned out.

My mommy will be so proud

But don't tell her or Jaime that I liked it.
I was forced into trying something I had never had. I went to lunch with mom and Jaime on saturday and they forced me into eating Fried Green Tomatoes. I hate healthy foods and anything green. They tease me because I have issues with anything that has a weird texture, (watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes). I can't eat or touch them. So for me this is a big thing. I think I deserve a gold star for eating it and liking it.
I was just talking about this experience at work. I told Jaime to not tell me what was really in the Fried Green Tomato and she didn't. So I really didn't think to much about it until now.
I think I was duped. IT REALLY IS A TOMATO..
Creeps!!! You lied to me. :)

My kids are home. Finally!!!!!

After what seems like forever, my kids finally came home sunday night. Madison had been gone for 3 week ends and 2 weeks. And Kennedee had been gone 1 week for camp and 1 week to hang out with her friends at Grandma's. I did go spend the weekends with them, but it was hard being home alone without them. Grandma Linda thought she could hang out with Kennedee a little but she spent every day at her friends and once in a while she would call and just let her know she was ok. Kennedee is so into friends. Every once in awhile I have to remind her she has a mom and sister who want to hang out with her too.
Madison had a lot of fun hanging out at Grandpa's and Grandma's. She loved to see Stran every day and play with him. Madison got used to going with Grandma every day and shopping and going to Mcdonalds. Grandma had a hard time letting her come home. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting them both stay and letting Kennedee come and go!!!!!
When the kids came home sunday night, we snuggled in my bed and watched TV. We all missed eachother, but life jumps right back into the norm pretty quick. Madi went to work with me monday morning so I could take her to soccer training in the morning. She has training twice this week and more throughout the summer. She will be playing in the Sparta tournament in August.
Kennedee will be back into practicing this week. Her team is back from Hawaii, they did well, but lost in the semi finals. It killed Kennedee to know they were there playing and she couldn't be there. She is so excited to play with this team and get going.
I am just very happy that the sun is shining and it will stay warm. The hotter the better for me. I still wear a jacket at work but love to sit in the hot car on the way home. I can't wait to sit at a soccer game in the heat without a blanket wrapped around me.
YAY for summer!!!!

Our Zoo Pictures

The zoo

Last saturday we did a lot of firsts with Stran. Kennedee, Madison, Jaime, Stran and Me all went to the Zoo. Stran saw the zoo for the first time, he ate ice cream for the first time and I spent the whole day with him for the first time. He finally likes me. He smiles and cuddles with me now. We had a lot of fun. I think Jaime enjoyed it more than Stran. It was super hot but I loved it. Kennedee and Madison had a lot of fun too. Grandma Linda was sad she couldn't go with us and we missed her. The girls and I spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's. We all had a lot of fun. The girls are still at Grandpa's and Grandma's. I am not sure I will get them back. They are all enjoying their vacation. Next week when they get home, we will all be super busy with soccer, so this time off is nice for everyone. Kennedee has spent the whole week at her friends who she has missed a lot. But she is anxious to come home and hang out the rest of the summer with her friends at home.

Back from girls camp

Kennedee is finally back from camp. She is exhausted. No matter how many times I jump on her and tell her to wake up she won't. She said she had a great time, but she also got sick the first day and wanted to come home the second. She got dehydrated the first day and had to spend some time in bed. She got better and was able to participate in the rest of the activities. She said she got homesick and missed her mom very much. I think I missed her just as much. I am glad to have her back home.
Madi is still at Grandma Linda's and she says she is having a lot of fun too. She is gone all day long with Grandma and she says she acutally likes shopping now. Oh great!!!!!

Weekend

The weekend is over. It was the first weekend in weeks I didn't have kids, soccer games, or practice to run the kids to. Madison was at Grandma's and Kennedee was with her dad. Although I felt guilty that Madi was at Grandma's instead of with me, I went out and had a good time. Friday night I worked late and crashed early. Saturday I got all Kennedee's last minute things for camp, went wave running, (yes it was to cold, but so much fun) and in the evening I went to dinner and a movie with a friend. It was very nice to do adult stuff for a change. On sunday I went to Grandma's to surprise Madi and spend the day with her. I kissed and hugged alot to last for 5 days. I will miss her terribly.
When Kennedee and I got home we packed her bags and got them to the Camp Leader to pack in the trailer. Kennedee fell asleep at 8 and I stayed up until 1. We woke up monday morning at 5:45 and unlike a school morning, Kennedee jumped up and got ready. She was so excited to go to camp. I dropped her and her friend off at the church at 6:30. It was so crazy but the girls were so excited. There is snow at the camp but she is well prepared.
I will miss both girls very much in the next two weeks, but they are well taken care of and they are happy about where they are at. It gives me time to work a lot. We have a lot of expenses coming up for soccer tournaments so I can work alot of not feel bad to leave the kids home.
Thanks mom for giving me a break and taking such good care of Madi. I do get her back don't I?

Last night Scott had the girls. I picked Kennedee up from practice and he took Madi to Mimi's house. Kennedee got up at 7:30 this morning so she could go to her friend Maddi's house. A bunch of friends were going to the mall and to the movie for the day. Grandma Linda has Madison for the day. Madi was so excited to go to Grandma's. She told me I have been wanting to go to Grandma's ever since June 1. She is such a crack up. Grandma and Grandpa love having her there. She goes with her dad for two days and back to Grandma's for two weeks. I will be lonely but she is so excited to be there and play with Stran. Madison called me earlier and told me she has Hyperfemia and it turns her into a maniac. She was talking 90 miles a minute and Grandma was laughing. Where do they come up with this stuff....
Last night with Madi gone Kennedee and I stayed up until 11:30 talking about all the summer plans. She is growing up so fast. It makes me sad. She loves to be with her friends, but she still likes her mom. She said she was hiding her phone in her bag at camp so she can text me if she misses me. That's so cute.

I am to old for this.

Last night Kennedee went to Young Womens and Madi and I stayed home. Kennedee had a sleepover the night before and she wanted another one last night. I said I didn't care, so she brought 2 of her friends over and they spent the night. My only rule is they are quiet enough so I can sleep. Yeah right!!!
They let Madi hang out with them and she lasted until 1:30. I heard her go to bed and I told the girls to try and be a little quieter. At 5:40 this morning I hear someone coming out of the bathroom, I go down the hall and Kennedee's light is on and they STILL have not gone to bed. Her blinds were open and they were waiting for the sun to come up. I told them to go to bed now.
I called at 10:30 this morning and Madi was wide awake and Kennedee couldn't move. She did get up finally but she is exhausted. Needless to say, today is a no friends day and the two girls are chilling. The weather is yucky and they both need a nap.
So do I, I am to old to stay up all night listening to giggly girls.

Kids

I am always saying how wonderful my kids are. But they really are. Of course we have our moments.. But I really couldn't ask for better kids. I am hoping that Kennedee and I will stay as close when she is a full fledged teenager. Right now she cracks me up and Madison wants to be just like her. Kennedee is so responsible, for the most part, I still have to follow her around to clean up her messes, but she knows just what needs to be done before she asks if she can go to a friends house. She tried her hand at making cookies the other day and for a first timer she did a good job, except something was missing and I almost threw up. But she did it all on her own. Both kids have their chores they have to do each day and they do them before I come home. Madison complains and doesn't want to do anything, but once she is in the groove, she loves to be a helper.
Last night at practice, Kenndee got kicked in the ankle, I cringed as I saw her on the ground crying and the look on her coaches face was priceless. He helped her to the side and she took off her shoe. I don't think I took a breath, I was pretty nervous. She took her shoe off and sat for a minute and looked at me and gave me the thumbs up. She rested for a bit and went back out. She is a trooper, she says her ankle feels good and she was more nervous about it hurting than it really being hurt. She is looking so good and I am so excited for her. I know what a horrible spring she has had and she is so happy to be back in the game. Her team scrimmages for 2 hours every night and Kennedee hangs very well with the team. I have had a lot of parents come over and ask if I am Kennedee's mom and they tell me they have heard alot about her and they are so excited to have her on the team.
Madison has her soccer camp this week also. She has gone a couple of times and she is a natural. She complains about going but I think that is because she is nervous about making new friends. She has no problems once she gets there. She has already gotten some girls login names for Webkinz so she can add them as friends. She is a natural at making friends and at soccer, she just doesn't have the confidence she needs sometimes. Hopefully that will work it self out.

Isn't summer for relaxing

I thought once the kids got out of school, they could chill out a bit. No such luck. Madi has soccer camp every morning this week from 10-11:30. I tried to do the run back and forth on monday but I spent more time on the road than at work. Today I gave her the day off, but tomorrow and the rest of the week, she has to come to work with me and I will take her. Madi is practicing hard and she is looking good. She has the opportunity to play in the X league this fall, but 5 days of soccer for an 8 yr old is a little much, I think.
Kennedee has practice every day but sunday. Two hours a day. Her team is trying to get ready for Regionals in Hawaii. Kennedee won't be going with them but she still needs to practice. She is looking good. Her rust is off and she looks like she has her speed and aggresiveness back. She is feeling good and excited to be on this team. It looks like we will be doing a few out of state tournaments. Bring it on!! I am excited to go to San Diego in July. That is one of my favorite places. I just needed a reason to go.
I think it is time for my to find that suga daddy so I can just be a taxi driver for my kids and not have to work. Yeah right!!!!
Next monday Kennedee goes to Girls Camp for a week and then on vacation with her friend for a week. Madi will stay at Grandma and Grandpa's for two weeks and I will work, work, work.
When they both come home, it is more soccer, to get Kennedee ready for the tournament in July.
Calgon take me away.....
