We are all enjoying the summer time. Kennedee is busy hanging out with friends every day. If she sits home 1 day she is bored and going stir crazy. She is so grown up and has gone to lots of parties and had lots of sleep overs. Next week she has soccer tryouts and then lots of practices and games. She is super excited. Kennedee played in a tournament last weekend with U-16 Laroca, she had a good time and the team won their age group. It was a little weird seeing her in orange instead of Sparta blue. She played well and had a good time.
Madison hasn't been home to much either. She spent a few days with her Grandma Tracy in Idaho and really enjoyed that and she has been at her other grandparents for a week. She loves it but she is ready to come home and get back in the groove to start school soon. Madi starts dance next week and she is going to do a night of gymnastics this year too.
We are all headed to Bear Lake for mom and dads birthdays this week. I love the sun and water and it should be lots of fun.
I will be happy when the normalcy of school schedule comes again. Isn't that funny how much we look forward to school ending and than how much we look forward to going back.

Kennedee's home
.Finally.. After 3 weeks of being gone playing soccer, Kennedee is home for the summer. We picked her up from the airport. She was so happy to be home. She played awesome at ODP camp. She didn't make region or nationals but she said she had a lot of fun and learned alot. Both Utah coaches told her to tryout again next year and she got a lot of good things said about her from the coaches at tryouts. A parent approached her at the airport and said she heard she played out of her mind all week. I think that was a good thing.
So for now we are on a soccer break to enjoy the rest of the summer and get ready for high school soccer.
I can't believe the kids start school in a month. The summer is not nearly long enough.

Kennedee is standing right behind Madi. I don't know who was more excited to see her.

State Softball Tournament

I am so proud of Madison and her softball team. They played in the state tournament this week. In our part of the state they take the city league pretty serious. I have been a little surprised by this. We have a great facility that they get to play at. This has been Madi's first year ever playing and I have been amazed. On tuesday night they played 1 game and won so they played wednesday at 12 and lost. So they went to the losers bracket. I got off work to go watch the next game because I figured it would be her last game. Nope. The game was pretty even. Madi got up with bases loaded and put one in the field and brought in 3 runs and she got a double. She played catcher and caught a pop fly to end the game.
They had an hour break and played another game. Time was up and score was 0-0. Madi up to bat with a full count and 2 outs. There was a runner on 3rd and 2nd. Madi rocks it right down the middle and scores the run and they win.
They had 20 minutes to rest before the next game. Madison had a perm-a-grin. She had played so well and was so excited. The last game she got a triple with bases loaded. her team played so well. They didn't let any balls past them and got the outs pretty quick. They had played 4 games that day and they were all so tired.
On thursday they played at 3 and the whole team looked like they were asleep. If they would have won that game they would have gone to the finals. But they lost by alot. They just didn't have the energy to play like they did the day before.
I am very proud of Madi for rocking it like she did. My theory is, I don't care if they win or loose, I just want to see them play like they can and their best.
Kennedee is at ODP camp this week. She is having lots of fun, but she is ready to come home. We pick her up tomorrow afternoon at the airport. After being gone for 3 weeks, she just wants to sleep in her own bed and chill. She will get 2 weeks off before girls camp and high school soccer will start. She has a great chance of making regionals ODP. We will find out tomorrow.
