I can't believe it is already Thanksgiving time. There is snow on the mountains and although I don't like snow, it is pretty. I grew up so close to the mountains and it is nice to live somewhere again where I can look outside and be so close again.
Over Thanksgiving Kennedee is going to Vegas for a soccer tournament. Madi and I are staying home and going to my parents for dinner. Kennedee has been in rehab for her ankle and I am a believer in physical therapy. In just 2 weeks there has been a big change. Since she broke it 18 months ago, she has sprained it so many times it was so weak she couldn't stand on it. Now it is getting strong again and she is doing well. Although we were just in Vegas last month she is excited to go back and play again. They lost the last time in the semi-finals. So she is hoping to go all the way this time.
Kennedee is also trying out for the Olympic Development Soccer team. Last week she played for 3 hours in the blizzard. Kennedee loves to play so much the weather doesn't bother her. Hopefully she makes it. She will play soccer every weekend on top of her regular team. She could play every day and be just fine with it. Mom gets a little worn out but as long as she does well and enjoys it, I will support it.
Kennedee is still loving school and being a normal teenager. The first semaster Kennedee missed getting a 4.0 by having 1 A-. I am so proud of her. I don't see her much, she is always with her friends. Kennedee gave her first talk ever in church last week. It was on being an example and she did a great job. I think she is a good example to those around her and I am very proud of the young lady she is becoming.
Madison is staying busy as well. She played soccer for a comp team, but her heart really wasn't in it. I know she could do so much better so it was very hard to watch. But the deal was, give it a try if she really doesn't like and doesn't want to play, I will take off the team at the end of the season and she doesn't have to play any more. So she is done. She will stick to dancing. She is learning 2 dances for her recital in the spring and she wants to try out for the dance comp team. She has some moves. Madison is still on the Harry Potter kick. She is almost done with the fourth book and she watches the first 3 movies over and over. Madi is still growing up fast and coming out of her shell more and more.
As for me, I am done with both my night classes. Now I just have to study hard to pass both tests and take another class in January. I am so grateful for the friends who help me cart my kids around while I take my classes and study.
Since the kids informed me that we are a family of four with our dog, her update has to be here too. Gucci is doing great. We all love her tons. She spent 2 weeks at my parents and we were so happy to get her back. I missed having her sleep on my feet and be in the house with us. She tore up some kleenex in my room and when I tried to get mad at her, she tilted her head and stared at me like c'mon you can't get mad at me. It cracked me up.
So there is the update. We still have our daily trials but things are always getting better and we can't complain. I adore my daughters and I couldn't ask for more. I am very thankful for them and for the friends and family that surround me.
