Happy Birthday Madison

Madi turned 11 last week. Holy cow, my baby is growing way to fast.
While Kennedee was in AZ, Madi and I made it a special weekend to celebrate her birthday. On saturday I took her to get a mani and pedi and chilled the rest of the day. Sunday we attempted church but I layed on the couch to watch the Bears game at 11:00 and woke up at 2:40 (church starts at 1:00). I asked Madison why she didn't wake me up and she said I looked so comfy she didn't want to disturb me.

Monday she didn't have school so her dad came down and took her to the mall for a couple of hours and when I got off work we went and saw Tangled. After she went to bed I decorated the front room. She went to school on tuesday (her birthday) and when I got home from work the 2 of us went to Texas Roadhouse. That was her choice, we all love that place. They didn't make her sit on the saddle but the gave her ice cream and did the TR yell instead of singing. When we came home I sang to her and she blew out candles and opened her presents. Kennedee got home at 11:00 that night so just Madi and I celebrated and had a great time together.

ODP Championships in Phoenix

Kennedee is in Phoenix playing soccer. 150 girls her age tried out for ODP, 40 made the team so far, only 18 were selected to go to the ODP Championships in AZ this weekend. She says it is super warm and she is having SO much fun. Only 1 parent is there being the chaperon for her age and all Utah teams are staying in the same hotel. They ride buses back and forth to the games. It is such a great opportunity to be seen by lots of colleges and to just play soccer. The first game Kennedee scored and they tied 1-1. Second game Rachel scored 2 and Syd scored 1. Both girls are from her Sparta team. If they win tomorrow they will go to the semi's tomorrow night. Good luck Utah
Update... Kennedee had so much fun in AZ. Utah played great and won 1 game and tied 2. The last game they had to win to move on and they were up by 2 up until the last little bit of the game, the head coach pulled out Kennedee and 3 other starters at the same time and the other team scored 2. You can't put subs back in once you take them out. Kennedee was so bummed, but she had such a great time anyway. She met so many kids from other states and from Utah. It was such a great opportunity for her. She said there were so many college scouts down there and she felt like she really played well. We have been talking alot about what colleges she wants to contact and I can't believe this is what we have been playing for for so many years. I am so excited to see where she goes and what she accomplishes in life. When Kennedee stepped off the plane and hit Utah she couldn't get warm. She will be back in Phoenix in less than a month for another tournament.

Happy Birthday Kennedee

Kennedee turned 15 this week. Holy cow she is growing up so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was waddling around so fat and pregnant. I am so proud of Kennedee and the young woman she is becoming. She is not only an awesome athlete but she is a great kid. She has so many friends and she goes out of her way to compliment people and tell them they look nice or she likes what they have on. She does it at stores, at school or anywhere. I am very excited to see where life takes Kennedee and all the things she will accomplish.
The day before her birthday Kennedee's friend Morgan texted me to say they wanted to do something fun for her on her birthday and what was my idea. Kennedee has early morning seminary so breakfast is out. And it was family night so dinner was out. I suggested I bring pizza and balloons at lunch and Morgan and her friends could give them to her. I dropped Kennedee off to seminary and I knew she didn't have a lunch packed, she texted me later and asked if I could bring her some lunch, I told her I had a meeting and couldn't leave. Jane and Rachel took Kennedee a big box of yummy cupcakes right before lunch and I met Morgan at school and they took the pizzas to lunch and surprised Kennedee. I surprised her and ate lunch with her and her friends. Another friend brought her a balloon and I had another one at home. For dinner I made spaghetti and Madison made a cake and the 3 of us had dinner and Madi and I sang happy birthday. She had a great day and said it was the best.
Kennedee made the ODP championship travel team so she is headed off to sunny Phoenix this weekend, so that was most of her birthday presents. But she also got a sweatshirt and some makeup. This is her 5th month of Acutane and her face looks amazing. NO more acne AT ALL. Now she can wear foundation and real makeup and not have to worry about her face breaking out.
Happy birthday Kennedee. Good luck in Phoenix

On New Years day we went out to Saratoga Springs and went sledding with the Brainichs. We couldn't go for to long since Kennedee and Rachel had ODP practice, but we did have fun for the short time we were there.
