From our family to yours Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful holiday. Kennedee and I headed up north on the 24th to be with family. Madi had stayed up there all week and was able to hang out with Grandma, Granpa, Stran, Hadlee and Jaime and she was able to go to some family Christmas parties with her dad. I dropped Kennedee off at her dads and they all went to decorate cookies for Santa. Scott brought them back later for our family party. We all woke up super early to see what Santa brought. Stran got a John Deere tractor and I am not sure who was more excited, him, grandpa or Jaime. We opened presents and ate breakfast and I took a nap. The kids went with their dad for the rest of the day and Jaime and I ate more than we needed to.
We all hung out for a couple more days and on monday night we all went to Temple Square to see the lights. Tuesday the kids and I came home to spend the rest of the break at home. Kennedee hung out with friends most of the time. Coming home long enough to do some chores and sleep, (when she wasn't having sleep overs at friends). Madison hung out with friends and me most of the time.
It has snowed lots and lots this last week. There has been so much snow and so cold that I would prefer to stay home than to drive in the snow.
For New Years, Kennedee went to Rachels to do some night sledding and Madison's plans feel through so her and I are staying home making goodies and watching movies together.
Only a couple more days of this break from work and school and hopefully next year we will be in Florida instead of home being bored.





Kennedee wants to go into Criminal Justice and be a CSI agent. She picked out this present but was so excited to open the box and play. She wants a lab coat for her birthday.



This was their first trax ride

Madison loves, loves, loves pigs. Her blanket has pigs on it and she is always wanting pig stuffed animals. She has loved them for years, she used to get mad at me if I bought pork or ordered pork anything. She is over that but still loves pigs. At Grandma's we all have to spread out to find places to sleep. Madison usually sleeps with grandma. At her school they had an auction and she had her eye on this pig. She wasn't at school the day the did the auction but her friend made sure she got it for Madi and I brought it up with me. Grandma came downstairs to me and asked if I could take the pig away from Madi because there wasn't any room for her to climb into bed. When I went upstairs this is what I saw.


I tried to take the pig away and she had a death grip in it. That pig wasn't going anywhere without a fight.

After we took the pig she got mad and put the blanket over her face and went back to sleep.

Holy Cow its snowing

It is Tuesday morning 9:00 A.M. It has been snowing since late Sunday night. There is SO much snow. This morning Kennedee and I left in a hurry to get her to seminary so she wouldn't be late. I opened the garage door and snow was had been plowed against the door so I had to shovel it away. We pulled out the driveway and our road had been plowed during the night by the HOA so I wasn't to worried. When I got onto the main road, it had been plowed too, but just one lane, going the wrong way I needed to. The snow on the other side of the road was above my bumper. (at these rare times I miss my SUV). I knew I couldn't make it up the steep hill so we went to the not so steep hill. The first attempt I didn't make it so we backed down until the traffic left, (luckily at 6:45 in the morning there isn't much traffic). After 3 attempts and a good running start we made it up the hill and I ran the stop sign so I didn't have to stop. We went slow but made it on time for seminary. The school parking lot was plowed a little just so cars could come in. People tried to go out and around and would get stuck. A car had slid into the curb and was stuck. The snow was way to high for me so I stayed in everyone else's tracks. Once I dropped Kennedee off and headed to work the closer to Provo the less snow there was. There is still allot but not as much as at home.
I was at work for 1/2 hour and Kennedee called and said they had canceled school because the bus's couldn't get there. WTH?! We commented on the way to school that we sure wish today was a snow day. But not after I had already got her there. So today I am at work and Kennedee is hanging out with friends. I figured once I got to work I wasn't leaving. Good thing she had friends in seminary that she could go home with.
The weather man says it is going to rain the next couple of days. It is still snowing with no sign of letting up. It looks like we will have a white Christmas.

When we came home sunday night, there was no snow at all. Most of this is just from last night. The driveways have been plowed but need it again.

It beginning to look a lot like Christmas

This last weekend we went north to celebrate Stran's 3rd birthday. We got up there friday and all went to the mall together. When Stran went to bed we decorated the kitchen in John Deere tractor stuff. When he woke up he was so excited to see all his stuff and it had snowed. So grandpa took Stran and Madi out on the sled. We all went to Chuck E Cheese for his party. We played games for awhile and then went back to grandma's to have cake, ice cream and open presents.
Saturday night I went to Maddox with friends and to play min golf.
On sunday we had a lazy day and the kids went to their dads for the day. Only 3 days of work this week and then off for 12 days. The break will be nice to spend with family and friends.

Its Christmas time

It is getting close to Christmas and for the first time in a few years, I am in the spirit. The kids and I have decorated our house more than usual. We have put lights all over on the outside. If I had a big ladder I would climb on the roof and put more lights up, but not yet. I am almost done Christmas shopping. Kennedee and I went to Toys R Us last night to shop and she was worse than a 2 yr old. I had to drag her out of there. She wanted to buy everyone everything.
A little catching up.
The kids went to San Diego with their dad over Thanksgiving for a soccer tournament. The team didn't do to well. The first game Kennedee scored 4 out of the 6 and they won 6-1. The next 2 games Kennedee got beat up. Every time she would touch the ball, she would have 4 people on her. Kennedee and Madi didn't get to do a whole lot of site seeing, but they had fun. There was a huge snow storm on the way home and it took them 8 hours to get home from Vegas. That's about 3 hours to long.
Kennedee made the first ODP cuts again. So soccer soccer soccer every weekend again until the next cuts in the spring. She is happy about that. Me.. not so much but it keeps her busy. Kennedee's dad bought her a letterman's jacket for Christmas and she got it early. She is so excited to wear it. Pretty cool she was able to letter as a freshman. Kennedee works very hard and deserves it.
This weekend we will be hanging out at BYU for a college soccer tournament. They will have scouts from 11 colleges watching the games. To bad Kennedee wants to go to North Carolina not a Utah college. :(
Madison is my low key kid. Madison spends most of her time chilling with friends. She is getting to be more and more like Kennedee in that way. She is rarely home. She always asks to go to her friends. Madi and I went fabric shopping and she picked out new material for a new bubba (blanket). She LOVES pigs so she was excited to find some pig material and it turned out so cute.
I can't believe both my babies will be one year older in a month. Holy Cow, one month from today is Kennedee's birthday. It makes me sad they are growing up WAY to fast.
We will spend the rest of December enjoying the holiday season. We are trying to spend more time together doing fun holiday things and enjoying the real reason for the season.
