Summer loven

The sun is out and the kids are loven summer. Kennedee and Madison went to New Mexico for the soccer regionals. Kennedee's team did well and made it to the quarter finals. After the first game Kennedee was approached by a scout for Oregon. He asked her her name and told her she had set the bar high for Utah. She was pretty stoked and her and her dad said that was the best game she has ever played. I was home and didn't get to see it. Dangit. The had alot of fun and Madison went to the zoo and got to hang out with Kennedee and her friends alot.
Friday I left work early and headed up north for our family fun weekend. I took Stran to the tractor store and bought him a new John Deere tractor and then we went to see Toy Story with Jaime. I loved seeing his eyes light up when he saw all the tractors to choose from.
When the kids came home Scott dropped them off at my parents and we got up early and went to the Pleasant View founders day parade. Than we all went to the trout farm and to Zeppe's for a Gelata. After a brief rest we went to the salmon bake and than tried to stay awake for the fireworks.
Sunday we chilled out and Kennedee and I came home. Madison is staying up north for the week and Kennedee is headed to St George for the Dixie High School invitational soccer camp. She is 1 of 2 9th graders that were chosen to go for Maple Mountain. Rachel was the 2nd. They will have so much fun together in the sun.
Next week Kennedee will be heading to Moscow Idaho for ODP region camp. If she makes that she will stay an extra week to tryout for national ODP.
The summer sun has been nice so far but the kids have been gone so much. Madi will be coming home for her softball state tournament next week and who knows when Kennedee will be home. As long as it is sunny and the kids are happy and having fun than I am happy too.

Where's the sun

It is supposed to be summer but I am not seeing the sun. It goes from rain, to sun, to snow and back again.
Last night at Madison's softball game, it started out nice, than the black clouds came rolling in. It started to rain a little and than the hail hit. We all ran for cover. I put the blanket around Madi and she warmed up until it stopped and they headed back out to finish the game. She had welts and red marks on her arm from the hail. You gotta love Utah weather.
Last week Aunt Mame fell during the night. Mom found her on the floor in the morning. They called the ambulance and she went to the hospital. She had a heart attack (not sure if that is what made her fall) and her kidneys are shutting down. I left work in a hurry and drove up north, luckily the kids were already up there. They thought she wouldn't make it but she did. She left the hospital after 6 days and we moved her into a new nursing home where she can have round the clock care. She is not doing well, she is confused and very tired. She has wanted to go for years and for reasons that we don't know, she is still here. We have all prayed for her to close her eyes and not be in pain any more but she is sticking it out. She can't feel her legs and she has a compression fracture in her back. She is a true testament of strength. We love her lots but we hate to see her suffer. We didn't think it could get worse but it has. So sad.
Kennedee is playing LOTS of soccer. She had her High School camp this week for every one trying out for the team. (Did I just say high school? Wow can't believe she is that old). And at night she has had practice with her team for Regionals next week. She loves playing as much as she can. Both kids will be going to New Mexico with their dad. This will be the first time he has taken both for a long period of time out of town. I will miss them a ton but I am happy they get this opportunity. Good luck Sparta!!!

I love summer!!!

Even though we haven't had to many super warm days, I love summer. Just seeing the kids going in so many different directions enjoying the freedom of summer makes me happy.
Over the weekend I had my work party at Boondocks. Kennedee was playing soccer for ODP so Madison took a friend and we went to the party. It was so warm and nice. They played miniature golf a couple of times, laser tag, rode the bumper boats, played arcade games and ate lots of pizza and ice cream. Lots and lots of fun.
Kennedee played 3 games over the weekend and will find out any time whether she made the final state team for ODP. If she makes it she will go to Idaho next month for a week to try out for the region team.
This week has been crazy. Kennedee stayed at her dads over the weekend and until tuesday. Madi stayed at the grandparents. I thought I would have monday to chill and do whatever, but nope. Monday afternoon Jaime called and said Aunt Mame had fallen in the middle of the night and had a heart attack and her kidneys where shutting down. So I left work in a hurry to get to the hospital. It was looking pretty grim, (or good depending on how you look at it) (she wants to leave this earth so bad). Kennedee and Madison were at the hospital with us and we all waited until into the evening to see what was going to happen. I stayed up north just in case and went to the hospital the next morning and just like Nana she rallied and she is feeling much better. Still very tired from the fall but doing much better.
Kennedee is practicing lots for New Mexico and hanging out with friends as much as she can. Last night she went to practice, slept at Rachels, came home for a little bit today, went to the reservoir with Rachel, then to a baseball game to support her friends and later she is going to the Real game. She may be home later but you never know.
Madison has gone with her friend to the families cabin and will be home tomorrow. They both are so busy but having such a great time. Tonight I just may get that quiet me time.

We are the champions..... again

Kennedee's soccer team won the State cup again this year. They are 4 time champs. Thats a pretty big deal in the soccer world. They dominated the last game. Kennedee scored 1 out of the 4 scored. We (Kennedee and Madi) are now headed to New Mexico for the regional games the end of this month. Kennedee was pretty excited. Sparta played well and hopefully they can make it out of their pool this year at regionals.
Great job Kennedee, you played awesome and I am proud of you and your team.

Kennedee and her possee.. They came and cheered her and Rachel on every game at State
