Today is the last day of school and it is met with mixed feelings. Madison said this morning that this has been the best year of school yet. She loves this school and her teacher is so awesome. He makes learning fun. Madison has opened up so much this year. She isn't my little baby any more. She is looking forward to spending the summer chilling at friends or at Grandmas and Grandpas. She has planned a big end of school party tonight with her friends and she is looking forward to that. She is so easy going, she can chill and doesn't get bored to easy. Living in Spanish Fork has really been great for both kids, they are both happy and we all feel like we are really home and have lived her forever. I love that feeling.
Kennedee is sad to see school end but so excited for all the summer soccer. She went to Lagoon yesterday with the school and was able to see some friends from up north and hang out with every one. She had so much fun she couldn't talk when she came home. Today they sign yearbooks and she has a big party tonight to go to. She is right in the middle of the State Cup tournament and tonight are the semi finals. If they win tonight they will go to finals on saturday and to New Mexico in June.
As for me, I am the taxi cab, the money tree and everything else a mother is. I am looking forward to not fighting about doing homework and not having to call every morning to make sure Madison is awake and taking Kennedee to school every day because she missed the bus. I am looking forward to summer vacations and enjoying the sun. Yay!!

School is almost out. YAY.. except that May always seems so busy. Last weekend Madi had her dance recital, she looked so grown up and did a great job. She wanted to do comp dance but has decided she wants to do many things and not put her focus on one thing. We really loved her dance place this year. It was so different than last year and Madison can't wait to go back in the fall.
So between Madison's dance recital and all the rehearsals, 2 softball games a week and all the end of year things at school. Her schedule has been jam packed. 2 more weeks and she can take a break.
Kennedee on the other hand, is just getting geared up for the soccer season. She just finished her spring season and her team came in first. Winning all but 1 game. Kennedee ended up 2nd on the scoring list for the whole U14 pool. So now she is gearing up for the big State Cup tournament. If they win this, they will be 4 year in a row champs and they will go to New Mexico for the regional finals in June. Kennedee is 1 of 2 freshmen that was invited to go to the Dixie High School invitational soccer camp at DSC in July. She is pretty excited about that. Her summer schedule is already full but she will be doing what she loves the most.
As for me, I am just hoping to have nice weather so I can soak up some sun.

I am so proud
Madi had her track meet yesterday. They have a Hershey's track meet where 6 or 7 schools compete against each other. Yesterday it was just the 4th grade. Madi did so well. She competed in 4 events and placed in the top 3 in 3 events. She did the softball throw and got 69 feet. The longest was well over 100 ft. She competed in the 50 and blew away her first heat and in the second heat it was to close to call so we didn't know if she would go to the finals. I was sitting in the car when they called her name so I had to hurry fast to go watch her. She took 3rd over all in that. She took 2nd overall in the 200 meter and 1st and 3rd where girls from her school. In the 400x1 relay the first girl handed off the baton last and then the next one handed off 2nd to last, the 3rd girl gained some time and handed off second. Madison had the last leg, the girl in first had a large lead on her but Madi closed the gap alot to come in second. Her team took 3rd overall.
Madison was so tired when she was done. It was a cold day so after getting warm she took a 3 hour nap and is pretty sore today. I am so proud of you Madi. You did your best which is all I expected. The placing is just an added bonus.
Standing on the side lines watching all the races was so much fun. Every time a kid would cross the finish line and have that look of happiness I teared up. That was so much better than any day at work. Thanks for letting me come watch you Madi.

Family time
This last weekend we went up North to spend the weekend with the family. Friday night Kennedee had practice and we headed up after she was done. We were all excited to see Stran and give him kisses.
Saturday morning we got up and Madi and I went and bought everyone cinnamon rolls and we lounged until Kennedee's game. It was in Eden so it was close for us. It was cold and rainy but we all went to watch her play. Her team won and we had a lot to do the rest of the day. Kennedee is running for student council and being the procrastinators we all are we had to come up with slogans and make 3 signs for school on Monday.
We spent the day making signs and Mimi made us a yummy dinner just like Cafe Rio, but better. After dinner Grandpa made a fire in the fire pit and we roasted marsh mellows and made scones. The kids loved it and I love the smell of camp fire.
Sunday we chilled and came home to get ready for the super busy week.
Soccer practice or a game every day this week. Madison has dance and her recital with dress rehearsals and 2 softball games.
